Race 3 - Maraetai
Maraetai is situated 40 minutes SE of Auckland city. It is an inner Hauraki Gulf race with the course running from the beach and yacht club out towards Waiheke Island and then down towards Ponui Island and back. Depending on the wind direction it can be flat calm or exceptionally rough!

Round three was held at Maraetai Beach on Sunday 1st of March after being postponed by a day due to more inclement weather. All the competitors were keen to get back to racing after an extended break.
Conditions were perfect with a light breeze and just a small harbour chop to contend with.
From the start, Back 2 Bay 6 shot to an early lead until they were slowed by a battery problem, letting Building Solutions to the front. Auckland District Collections #2 chased hard in 2nd, finishing just a few seconds back.
