The first race of the 2009 season, Taupo is always a great venue with spectacular viewing along the foreshore cliffs on State Highway 1 right in the town centre.

A fantastic start to the 2009 season with 10 Formula Honda entrants at the start line. Great to see some new teams lining up for the first time, Ray Haslers & Electropar from Auckland & Bad Boys from Wellington.
Lake Taupo turned on a stunner with a fine still day and flat conditions. Building Solutions lead from the start and drove a clean race, shadowed all the way by Auckland District Collections #2 and Back 2 Bay 6.
Great drive’s by James Taylor in Electropar, first rookie home in 5th place and Colin Dunn in CRD who made a slow start and came from last place.
Round 2 is on the 14th of February at Gulf harbour on the Whangaporoa Peninsula. Race start 12.00pm
